Christopher McGuire

In 1981 Andrés Segovia wrote, “…he will be appreciated and applauded everywhere,” and also, “…and consider him an artist, sensitive, with perfect technique.” His direct influences range from private lessons with Segovia to jam sessions with Stevie Ray Vaughn. He has performed with Charlie Byrd, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Roland Dyens, and 1985 Cliburn Gold Medalist José Feghali. In October of 2005 Chris shared the stage with the legendary Van Cliburn in a tribute concert for Fort Worth philanthropist Roz Rosenthal.

McGuire has performed hundreds of solo concerts in the United States, Mexico, Japan, Venezuela, Germany, Spain, and the Canary Islands and more than 2500 informational presentations in North America, Spain, Venezuela, and Japan.

A respected member of the international guitar community he has judged several GFA International Competitions, the 14th International Guitar Competition at Fundacíon Alirio Díaz in Carora, Venezuela, and the International Guitar Comeptitions in Hennsberg, Germany. Masterclass invitations include Arizona State University, the Juilliard School, Alaska Pacific University, and at the GFA

Kevin Manderville enjoys a multi-faceted career as a solo recitalist, chamber musician, teacher, and scholar. He has appeared in major cities and festivals throughout North America and Europe including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Guitar Foundation of America International Convention, the Iserlohn International Guitar Symposium, the Sauble Beach Guitar Festival, and the Hamilton International Guitar Festival in Canada, among others. An advocate for new music, his programs often feature rarely performed works as well as those written for

him.

Kevin Manderville has won top prizes in several international competitions, including first prize at the Concours International de Guitare de Lachine (Montreal), second prize at the Rantucci International Guitar Competition and consecutive top prizes at the Columbus Guitar Symposium Competition. In 2006, he was a recipient of the Florida Artist Enhancement Grant. His debut CD, “Through the Centuries”, was released in 2010 on Clear Note.

Kevin Manderville began his classical guitar studies at the age of eighteen with JamesChandler. He received the Bachelor of Music degree from Stetson University, where he studied with Stephen Robinson. He also received the Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees from Florida State University under the tutelage of renowned pedagogue Bruce Holzman. A dedicated teacher, Dr. Manderville has taught in many diverse settings from universities to community programs. From 2008-2022, he directed the Classical Guitar program at Carver Elementary Arts Magnet School and also served as Arts Department chair. He currently resides in Grapevine, TX, where he is a guitar instructor at The Guitar Studio in Fort Worth and is on the faculty at both Texas Wesleyan University and Tarrant County College-Northwest Campus.

Jonathan Fisher is a much sought after jazz bassist and cellist. He performs regularly as a classical cellist with the Allegro Ensemble as well as other local chamber ensembles. A stalwart of the local Dallas/Fort Worth jazz scene, Jonathan Fisher has been an in demand, first call north Texas bassist and teacher for over 25 years. He maintains an extremely busy performance and teaching schedule with jazz, pop and classical concerts and private events. Graduating from the University of North Texas Jazz Studies program in 1999, he had the opportunity to study with Lynn Seaton and Jeff Bradetich. After college he travelled to Paris, France for lessons with bass virtuoso and pedagogue Francois Rabbath. Jonathan has been in bands with local jazz legends Marchel Ivery, Shelley Carrol, David Zoller and Roger Boykin and has shared the stage with Winton Marsalis, Bernard Wright, The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Eagles and Bernadette Peters among others. Jonathan is passionate about the double bass, considering himself an explorer of the instrument’s vast possibilities. He is also dedicated to passing on the jazz tradition to the next generation of musicians through performance and teaching. Jonathan is enamored with Texas jazz music and history, seeking out music by Texas jazz musicians to promote and perform.
